Rain on the Portobello
Here we are at the celebrated Portobello Road – the quirky epicentre of old stuff – a street in Notting Hill West London dedicated to antiques and bric-à-brac.
Always a very crowded, tightly packed and jumbled market brimming with energy and anticipation with an overall vibe of a place where all the participants are pumped with the desire to fulfil a passion for things.
The ‘sharp-eyed’ and the ‘keen-eyed’ trinket seekers are in their glory here. A wonder to witness and when it started to rain a sense of urgency took hold amongst the crowd. Brollies hoisted, and then jokes fanned out like Chinese whispers about the English weather.
