Kyoto Happenstance
Kyoto has an addictive edge to it which is centred on its distinctly Japanese soul.
It is a city caught between modernity and tradition and it is within this tension a great sense of curiosity is formed particularly around everyday life and things. From the beckoning banks of vending machines, small street shrines and century old shops such as Naito Shoten (a 200 year family run palm broom shop), Kyoto is a city that I continue to draw inspiration from. The ordinary things in an extraordinary place can be the most rewarding to explore.
